ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jannie Lo recently graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Benjamin Pasternack. Other influential teachers include Meng-Chieh Liu, Hung-Kuan Chen, Boris Slutsky, and Mack McCray.
Ms. Los awards include first prizes from the Ross McKee Piano Foundation, the Pacific Musical Society, the San Francisco Young Pianists Competition, and the Stravinsky Awards International Piano Competition.
In 2006, she performed with the Longwood Symphony in Boston. She has appeared in the San Francisco Noontime Concert Series since the age of ten, and has performed with the Fremont Symphony Orchestra, the San Domenico Orchestre da Camera, and at the Junior Bach Festival. In New York City, she appeared in a "Young Virtuosos" Gala Concert in Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. From 2001-2003, she was keyboardist of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.
She has attended the Beethoven Institute and International Keyboard Festival in NYC, the TCU/Cliburn Piano Institute in Fort Worth, TX, the Yellowbarn Young Artist Program, and the Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival in Italy among others. She has been coached on various occasions by Leon Fleisher, Leon Kirchner, Russell Sherman, Robert McDonald, the Peabody Trio, and others.
