Experience the NOISE-BRIDGE duo, featuring clarinetist Felix Behringer and soprano Christie Finn! Presenting a melange of duo and solo works, Behringer and Finn perform (with experimental ecstasy and indeterminate intricacy!) works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Georges Aperghis, Harrison Birtwistle, and Stuart Saunders Smith--with some premieres by New York composers and stunning surprises! The aural adventure is not to be missed!
NOISE-BRIDGE duo members soprano Christie Finn and clarinetist Felix Behringer, also both members of Tactus Contemporary Ensemble (based in New York City), are seasoned musicians in the savoring of sound.
Finn, a two-time prize winner at the International Stockhausen Courses in Kürten, Germany, performs /Sparrows/ (J. Schwantner) with Tactus Ensemble this spring, as well as Stockhausen's "Die Sieben Lieder der Tage" in the Avant Music Festival. She is the featured singer on the album "The Year Begins to Be Ripe" (11 West Records), which presents the percussion/soprano works of John Cage and Stuart Saunders Smith.
Behringer has won several performance competitions in Germany and Switzerland. For his final concert in 2009 at Zürich University of the Arts which combined lights, electronics, and improvisation to make contemporary music easier accessible to a broad audience, the clarinetist and passionate contemporary musician was awarded a special prize by the president of the university. Being inventive, Behringer aims for true interpretations of contemporary works and a wide contemporary repertoire as a soloist.
