Gypsy Poetry, the debut EP from t3N (pronounced “ten”) is a marriage of American Folk (Sahffi), Sudanese Rock (Mosno), & Urban Soul/Jazz (Marc Avon Evans) over house/lounge grooves by African producer N’Dinga Gaba of Global Diplomacy.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

American Folk singer-songwriter ‘Sahffi’ has gained regional acclaims with her indie label Girl Moving Sound recordings ‘…and I am not sorry’, as well as her recent release ‘Turning Tides’. She has been performing up and down the East Coast and throughout the US at bars, coffee houses, and festivals for the last 10 years. A formally trained French horn player, Sahffi obtained her Bachelor of Music in Performance at Johns Hopkins Peabody Conservatory of Music. She began playing guitar and singing her original music after a few band projects revealed to her that she had more to offer than covering the songs she loved. Her voice and writing are reminiscent of artists like Joni Mitchell and Janis Joplin; soulful and powerful.

Sudanese Rocker ‘Mosno’ hit the ground running by playing djembe, guitar, and singing on the indie scene in the DMV. He recently released his debut full length recording, ‘The Ungenre,’ which blends Sudanese rhythms with rock, pop, and electronic. Inspired by bands like U2, Bon Jovi, and Michael Jackson, Mosno says his goal is to write music and lyrics that will help him to paint a positive picture of his people, inspire young Sudanese-Americans, and to be the first rock star from his country. Hearing him, you’ll agree that he’s well on his way.

Jazz & Soul singer ‘Avon’ (Marc Avon Evans) has been performing in the DMV for over 15 years as a straight ahead jazz vocalist who evolved into a musician when he began fusing rock, soul, and pop into his sound. After touring as a backing vocalist with Warner Bros recording artists John Stoddart, Kirk Whalum, and Wayman Tisdale in 2004, Avon was convinced that he had to do music. He successfully released three albums on his indie label VOR Music Group, and caught the attention of UK dance mogul Simone Dunmore in 2005, who signed him and released several singles and a full length album The Way You Love in 2008 and The Way You Love Me Deluxe Edition (2 disc) in 2009 on Code Red/Defected. Avon was inspired by artists like Bobby McFerrin, Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway, and Stevie Wonder; powerful, controlled, and versatile.

African born DJ/Producer N’Dinga Gaba has been in the industry for over 10 years spinning the hottest tunes worldwide, and producing chart-making dance tracks from his Global Diplomacy label. DJing with some of the hottest bands on the East Coast and known throughout Europe & South Africa for combining melodic chord progressions with aggressive drums production, N’Dinga has a knack for producing genre-crossing music. He recently produced hits ‘So Beautiful’ and ‘Summer Breeze’ featuring the writing and voice of Sahffi. N’Dinga has an appreciation for diverse sounds, so Sahffi brought in Mosno and Avon for a tune or two and from it was born t3N - the tree singers and N’Dinga.
