Paduco ain't your Grand-pappie's bass-less saxophone trio. They take what the Paul Motian Trio did, grab it by the suspenders and teach it to base jump. With influences as varied as Brad Shepik, Andrew Hill, and Evan Parker, Paduco mates raw firepower with the controlled chaos of odd meter whirlpools and the tenderness of a proud papa penguin. At the beginning of a tune they'll make you want to punch your best friend in the mouth. By the end they'll make you feel bad about it.

Their collective resumes include performances with Tony Malaby, Steve Lehman, Billy Hart, Michael Formanek, Dave Ballou, and Ches Smith as well as time studying with Malaby, Chris Speed, George Garzone, Brad Shepik, and Mary Halvorson.

Patrick Breiner grew up in Towson, MD. He moved to New York in 2002 to study with Tony Malaby, Junior Mance, Jane Ira Bloom, Reggie Workman, Eric Alexander, Charles Toliver, Chris Speed, George Garzone, Rich Perry, and Billy Hart at New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music before graduating in 2006. He currently resides in Madison, WI, where he books and promotes concerts for an improvised music collective called Surrounded By Reality. He remains active on the East Coast and plays with Bing and Ruth, Tony Malaby, and Billy Hart. He has also played with Matt Wilson, Dave Ballou, Michael Formanek, Tatsuya Nakatani and Ches Smith as well as Langhorne Slim and Dawes.

Patrick has released a pair of solo saxophone recordings under the alias Vartan Mamigonian and has recently started a record label specializing in limited edition CDr releases of projects with which he is currently associated - Vartan Mamigonian, Sons of Daughters, Premoticon, ManMouth, and Paduco.
