Join Eric Kennedy for his inaugural concert and workshop as An die Musik Live!'s new Jazz Artist-in-Residence! He will present one Friday concert each month, followed by a worshop/clinic the next day.

Curtis Lundy on bass

Curtis Lundy, originally from Miami, has been part of the New York jazz scene dating back to 1978. Curtis is a renowned double bass player, composer, producer, choir director, educator, arranger and band leader. Lundy is best-known for his relationships with alto saxophonist Bobby Watson and the late great vocalist Betty Carter and her Jazz Ahead Program for aspiring musicians. Curtis also worked with Art Blakey, Johnny Griffin , Freddie Hubbard, Pharoah Sanders, John Hicks, Wynton Marsalis, the George Coleman Octet, Charlie Persip's big band, Louis Hayes, Larry Willis, Clark Terry, Sam Rivers, Dameronia, the 29th Street Saxophone Quartet, Frank Morgan and the Savoy Sultans among others. Curtis Lundy's arrangement of "Walk With Me", recorded by the ARC Gospel Choir was sampled by rapper Kanye West and became the Grammy Award Winning, ground breaking hit "Jesus Walks".

Eric Kennedy is a drummer, vocalist, composer and educator from Baltimore. He has worked with Curtis Fuller, Phil Woods, Ronnie Mathews, Gary Bartz, John Hicks and Larry Willis among others. He was also a runner up in the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition.

Join Eric Kennedy on Saturday at 10 a.m for a special jazz rhythm section workshop with Richard Johnson and Curtis Lundy. We will explore the art of playing and listening in a jazz ensemble. All instruments are welcome, however we would love for upcoming music students to attend.
