ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Massimiliano Valenti

characterize today Massimiliano Valenti”
Is praised by critics as one of the best interesting pianist of his generation. He started
piano at the age of five years and then continued his musical studies at the Musical
Institute "V. Bellini" in Catania, graduating with top honors.
Subsequently refines his
artistic training with Master Paul Buch and Gerhard Oppitz Germany, in Italy with M°
Marian Mika, France with Aldo Ciccolini where he started with the deepening of the
French repertoire, and finally with Diana Apan and Dana Borsan in Romania.
The talent has opened the way to a brilliant career that saw him become the host of
important organizations and Festival in Italy and abroad (Austria, Portugal, Spain
Romania, Germany and USA).
He has given master classes at the University of Music in Aveiro , Conservatory of
Oporto and Fundão (Portugal), at the Faculty of Music in Timisoara (Romania) where
he has worked regularly since 2005 and also was invited to be part of the jury in
National and International piano Competitions in Italy and abroad.
Accounts for the Casa Musicale ECO music by Rameau, Satie, Messiaen and Gershwin
gaining critical praise in the media nationally and internationally. The year 2011
perform in the premiere Timisoara Philharmonic and the state Philharmonic of Sibiu,
transcription for piano Orchestra to his composition: Sonata-Fantasia”quasi Jazz”.
A complete artist, despite the concert engagement and educational , has grown from
an early passion for painting, a passion for which he received and still receives
appreciation from all over the world for the passion and emotion that manages to
convey, fundamentals elements that as in music, feature the pianist from the other
musicians. including it among one of the most interesting pianists of his generation.
Notes
Massimiliano Valenti’s Sonata-Fantasia, quasi Jazz, was composed in 2009. Presented in United states in
world premiere performance, it appears as a complex “rhapsody on a single theme” that is derived from a
harmonic scheme, rather than from a strict melodic subject; the references to the harmonic language, time
period, and pianistic style of Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett are evident and are intended as an intense
homage to the most interesting innovators of modern Jazz pianism.
