Since 1985, guitarist Christian Escoudé — recipient of the "Golden Django prize" — has been a symbol of European jazz and has surrounded himself with the most prestigious musicians of gypsy and romani music.
Mr. Escoudé’s group, Le Nouveau Trio Gitan — with fellow guitarists Jean-Baptiste Laya and David Reinhardt (the grandson of Django Reinhardt) — has given new life to the gypsy jazz tradition, while keeping the work of Django Reinhardt (1930s) and 1960’s jazz alive.
