Hot Winter Nights, Part 4:
Brazilian and Latin Jazz with the Rhonda Robinson Quartet
Vocalist/flutist Rhonda Robinson knows that Carnaval is over in Rio de Janeiro and Mardi Gras, too, has passed, but she wants to get one more party in, singing some Brazilian Bossa Novas in Portuguese and English with a dash of Latin Jazz tunes thrown in. She's hoping to provoke dancing in aisles even though Ash Wednesday has passed.
This was a popular yearly winter tradition we're transferring to An Die Musik from a former venue that held Parts 1-3. The Rhonda Robinson Quartet pleased audiences during last summer's monthly series with skilled, passionate performances.
We'll also be celebrating the birthday of Rhonda's friend, one of Baltimore's wonderful arts patrons, Mrs. Robbye Apperson, with a pre-show reception and cake between shows.
